DERMAMELAN – $POA
REMOVE BLEMISHES WITH DERMAMELAN DEPIGMENTATION TREATMENT
Pigmentation issues can be devastating for the sufferer and the psychological effects of facial pigmentation should not be discounted.
There are now extremely effective treatments for this problem that will return the skin to its natural even colour and complexion, but sun avoidance and sun protection is an important part of the aftercare to avoid recurrence.
In humans, melanin is the primary determinant of skin colour. It is also found in hair, the iris of the eye, and various other areas of the body such as the brain. The melanin in the skin is produced by melanocytes, which are found in the basal, or bottom layer of the epidermis.
Dermamelan Depigmentation treatment’s principal action is the reduction of discoloured patches of melanin on the face, neck, chest, hands or body.
RESULTS YOU CAN EXPECT:
There are minimal side effects (only slight redness and flaking) and there is a stabilisation of sebaceous secretion resulting in reduction of any excessive oiliness and improvement of any acne problems. The skin becomes bright, rejuvenated and abnormal pigmentation starts to fade, with results starting to show in just 10 to 14 days.
From the first day after treatment, make-up can be worn, if required, without any problems. Suitable for all skin types this Dermamelan treatment can help reduce pigmentation marks by up to 95%.
TREATMENT FOR HYPER-PIGMENTATION
Brown patches or skin discolouration (also known as melasma, chloasma or hyper-pigmentation) are a consequence of many factors, including; sun exposure, ageing, hormonal fluctuation due to pregnancy or menopause and trauma to the skin such as acne. Dermamelan is a highly effective treatment designed to lighten the discolouration and provide a smooth, even appearance to the skin.
Dermamelan Treatment consists of two phases. It is imperative that both be used according to the following directions to achieve complete success.
Phase 1 is applied in clinic, and adjusted according to the individual’s skin type and tone.
Phase 2 is a maintenance product used at home following the professional treatment.
How does Dermamelan depigmentation work?
Dermamelan is what is known as a Tyrosinase Inhibitor, meaning it acts on an enzyme that is integral to the production of melanin. Thus, it blocks and can even invert this process.
It can be applied in any season and is compatible with all types and shades of skin. It is completely safe and the pigmented patches will usually disappear in a short period of time.
What are the advantages of the Dermamelan treatment?
As well as being extraordinarily effective compared to other available treatments, Dermamelan offers several other major advantages over other depigmenting treatments:
- Very effective for all types of hyper-pigmentation, especially deep and severe Melasma or post inflammatory hyper pigmentation PIH
- Effective for pigmentation that has failed to resolve after traditional skin lightening products or other lightening peels.
- Very rapid and easy depigmenting action. Results visable within a week of the professional treatment.
- Compatible with ALL skin types, including afro-carribean, indian and asian skins. (Fitzpatrick I – VI)
- Light peeling effect
- Rejuvenates the skin
- Treatment can be used all year round
- Beneficial for acne patients
- Does not contain Hydroquinone or TCA
- Highly safe
What results can be expected from a Dermamelan depigmentation treatment?
Most often, this treatment yields results within a week after the professional treatment, with continued improvement for a month. Most people are excited and very happy with the results at this stage. After one month, it will be clear whether a second peel is desired by the patient. But for the majority of people, this is not necessary.
Added benefits include plump, hydrated skin and a general rejuvenation of the surface of the skin.
What precautions must be undertaken before proceeding with Dermamelan?
Please inform us if you have undergone any previous treatments, especially with glycolic acid. If confirmed, any treatment, especially Glycolic Acid, must be eliminated at least one week prior to commencing Dermamelan Depigmentation treatment.
The Dermamelan Depigmentation treatment initiated at the medical office must be continued at home, on a daily basis, according to the guidelines indicated. The treatment must not be interrupted under any circumstances, during the whole time prescribed. It is completely forbidden to combine the Dermamelan
Depigmentation treatment with other depigmentation treatments, as the appearance of undesired effects cannot be guaranteed.
Follow-up visits are recommended at 1 week post treatment, 2 weeks post treatment and 1 month post treatment.
What conditions can be treated with Dermamelan depigmention?
Dermamelan works by blocking the enzymatic process involved in the creation of hyperpigmentation. It works for:
- Melasma / Chloasma
- Brown Spots
- Blotchy Skin
- Hyperpigmentation and discoloured spots from acne
- Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- Hyperpigmentation post-laser and post-peel
COSMELAN – $POA
Cosmelan is a highly innovative depigmentation treatment that gently targets and treats unwanted pigmentation on the face and body. This safe and non-invasive procedure treats the source of pigment formation to deliver a rapidly clearer, brighter and more clarified complexion.
Cosmelan works to fade the appearance of existing pigmentation whilst sedating the formation of future excess production. The active cosmeceutical ingredients are effective yet gentle to ensure comfortable and successful results. The treatment may be performed during any time of the year including throughout the summer.
Cosmelan does not contain any aggressive hydroquinone or bleaching agents. Used as part of a clinic and at-home action plan, Cosmelan can work fast and effectively to deliver exciting results even after one procedure.
Treatment may be performed on both old and new pigment deposits on patients of all ages and ethnicities. Cosmelan is particularly effective on melasma, a form of hormonally aggressed pigmentation. Melasma is most common on women and shows as bilateral patches of uneven skin tone particularly on the cheeks, forehead and top lip. Cosmelan is also effective to treat brown post-acne marks. These commonly appear on darker skin tones. The appearance of sun spots and ultra-violet aggressed uneven skin appearance may too be easily treated and cleared for a radiant and luminous finish.
Cosmelan is the perfect alternative for those skins not suitable for laser, IPL or chemical peels.
The daily use and re-application of a sunscreen is vital to ensue treatment efficacy and results. Keeping the skin well-hydrated following the removal of the Cosmelan mask is also vital to reduce unwanted dryness or flaking.
Most patients experience a dramatic reduction in the appearance of unwanted pigmentation following just one session of Cosmelan. To ensure long-lasting results, it is recommended to use a recommended regime of specific home care products.
FAQS
Are there any side effects having a Cosmelan treatment?
Side effects with Cosmelan treatments are rare but easily managed. Some skins may feel a little red following removal of the in-clinic mask. This may be accompanied by some minor dryness and flaking. Any tightness may be easily relieved by applying a nurturing moisturiser such as Hydra-Vital Factor K.
It is recommended to avoid direct sun exposure following a Cosmelan treatment and to wear a broad spectrum SPF30 every day before, during and following treatment.
Are Cosmelan treatments just for the face?
Though the face is the most common area to be treated with Cosmelan, the neck, chest and backs of the hands may also be addressed.
Can any skin type be treated?
The unique active ingredients used in the Cosmelan depigmenting mask and cream enable effective treatment and results on all skin colours and ethnicities. The skin preparation process conducted by your Skin Specialist prior to the mask’s application will customise the treatment further based on oily, combination or dry conditions. 2 weeks prior to any Cosmelan treatment, you will need to start preparing your skin.
The most effective way to achieve a brighter and even skin tone, free of dark spots and hyperpigmentation, is to eliminate skin cells rich in melanin and prevent the darkening of the new skin cells. Medi8’s white peel does this through applying a combination of Phytic Acid and L-Lactic Acid to the skin.
Especially designed to target sun damage and hyperpigmentation problems. Medik8’s White Peel penetrates the skins pigment cells (melanocytes) to gently and effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted discolouration, for a more even skin tone.
This peel is suitable for all skin types and treatment can be done at any time of the year. Often, results can be seen from the first treatment however we recommend a series of six to eight peels in order to maximise your results.
How do I prepare for my depigmentation treatment?
We provide a skin priming and pre-treatment kit and guide which is essential to prepare your skin at least 2-4 weeks before treatment to maximise results and allows us to identify any potential allergic reactions. It will also accelerate healing post-peel and form the basis for post treatment use of home use products.
What does the Medik8 White Peel involve?
It works by applying a chemical exfoliant on the skin, causing destruction of the dead skin cells which over the coming days will flake off, leaving improved skin texture and minimised imperfections.
Is the Medik8 White Peel painful?
Not especially painful but you will feel a sensation of tingling, stinging and heating. If and when it becomes uncomfortable, the peel can be deactivated instantly.
